Yachts entering or departing Turkey shall make their entry or departure
at frontier ports. There they must obtain a Transit Log referred
to in some official document as the "Yacht Registration
Certificate".
Formalities related to the Logs of yachts departing from the last
port of call or entering a port or mooring point for winter lay-up
shall be carried out at the points of departure or winter mooring.
The transit log is issued at the custom authorities will enter particulars
of the yacht and the transit log number in the passport of the yacht
owner. This record will be cancelled upon departure from Turkish
waters.
In case there is a list of goods and equipment on board of the
yacht, this list shall be approved by the Customs Patrol Authorities.
If no such list exists, it shall be prepared and be approved by
the concerned official and attached to the Log. When departure or
entry for winter lay-up formalities are carried out the said list
is checked.
Goods subject to customs duties and of non-commercial nature may
be allowed entry after being recorded in their owners' passport
on the condition that they will be taken out of Turkey.
Entry of goods and equipment like firearms and diving equipment
are subject to authorization.
Foreigners entering Turkey on board of their yachts, may leave
their vessels at a licenced marina for a period of up to two years
for winter lay-up, repair and maintenance purposes, and leave the
country by other means. Under such circumstances they should apply
to the Customs Authorities with a document obtained from the marina
manager and necessery entries will be made in their passports.
The expiration dates of certificates issued by foreign yachting
and sailing clubs, societies and associations may be extended by
the Tourism Bank of the Republic of Turkey.
The transitlog is renewed in the following cases:
1. Departure from Turkey,
2. Mooring of the yacht for winter lay-up,
3. Replacement of the person who has filled out the log,
4. Completion of the specified sailing (for those sailed under commercial
yachting status)
In case of death or contagious disease the nearest port health
authorities shall be notified.
